LateralIQ is an AI-powered legal intelligence platform that uses publicly available data and artificial intelligence to generate analytical reports, firm match recommendations, and market intelligence relating to law firm partners and lateral hiring trends. All analyses, reports, scores, rankings, and recommendations generated by the Service are produced algorithmically using AI models and publicly available information.
THE FIRM MATCHES, HIRING PROBABILITY SCORES, MATCH SCORES, COMPARABLE PARTNER ANALYSES, AND ANY OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS OR OUTPUTS PROVIDED BY LATERALIQ ARE FOR INFORMATIONAL AND ANALYTICAL PURPOSES ONLY.
No output from the Service constitutes a guarantee, promise, or representation of any kind that any law firm will hire, interview, extend an offer to, or otherwise engage any individual identified in an analysis. Firm match recommendations do not imply that any firm has expressed interest in or is actively seeking to hire any particular attorney. Hiring probability scores are statistical estimates based on publicly available market data and do not represent actual hiring intent by any firm.
Users should not rely on any LateralIQ output as career advice, legal recruitment advice, or a substitute for professional legal recruiting services. Any lateral hiring decisions should be made in consultation with qualified legal recruiters, career advisors, and legal counsel.

While we strive for accuracy, we make no representations or warranties regarding the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability, or availability of any information generated by the Service. Partner profiles, accolades, client information, notable matters, and lateral hire/departure data may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. All information should be independently verified before being relied upon for any purpose.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY. LATERALIQ DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LATERALIQ, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, DAMAGE TO REPUTATION, OR ANY OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE OR ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICE.
IN NO EVENT SHALL LATERALIQ'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO LATERALIQ IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LateralIQ and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of LateralIQ. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or exploit any content from the Service without our prior written consent. Generated reports may be used for your personal or internal business purposes only and may not be resold or redistributed.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Online Privacy Policy and our Data Processing Agreement, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
Information about law firm partners, firms, accolades, and lateral moves is sourced from publicly available data including but not limited to firm websites, legal directories, press releases, and news sources. LateralIQ is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any law firm, legal directory, or ranking publication referenced in the Service.
The Service offers paid subscription plans. By subscribing, you authorize LateralIQ to charge the recurring subscription fee to the payment method you provide through our third-party payment processor (Stripe). Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle (monthly, quarterly, or annually, depending on your plan) until you cancel.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access until then. Refunds for partial billing periods are not provided except where required by applicable law. If a payment fails, LateralIQ may suspend access to the Service until payment is resolved.
Prices displayed on the Service are exclusive of applicable taxes. Sales tax, VAT, and other applicable taxes are calculated automatically based on your billing address at checkout and are collected via our payment processor. If you are tax-exempt, you may enter your tax ID during checkout. For tax-exempt purchases, contact contact@lateraliq.app with your exemption certificate.
LateralIQ reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New York County, New York.
